House of Commons clerk visits Cornwall Youth Parliament 19th July 2012

Mr Robert Rogers, Clerk of the House of Commons, will be meeting members of the Cornwall Youth Parliament as part of a visit to Truro on 25th July.

He will give members of the Youth Parliament an account of how Parliament works, as well as answering any questions .

Mr Rogers became Clerk of the House and Chief Executive in October last year, and has worked in the House for 35 years.

Sarah Newton, Conservative MP for Truro and Falmouth who will be accompanying Mr Rogers on his visit said, “As Clerk of the House of Commons Mr Rogers knows how Parliament works better than anyone, this will therefore be a great opportunity for the young people of Cornwall to learn more about how parliamentary democracy functions on a day to day basis.”
