18 year old MYP Josh Payne from Royton has become the new Youth Mayor for Oldham.
Josh (pictured above, left) has been an active member of the Youth Council in the town for the past four years. Alongside his work with the UK Youth Parliament, he is also an ambassador for the Every Life Matters campaign, which aims to improve road safety in the town.
Speaking to the Oldham Evening Chronicle, Josh said: “I decided to get involved because of the opportunity the youth council provided to influence decisions affecting young people in Oldham without having to become involved in party politics.”
