Schools! Help your pupils ‘make their mark’ 2nd May 2012

Last Autumn term 65,000 secondary school pupils took part in a national ballot to decide what Members of the UK Youth Parliament should debate and vote on to be their campaign for the year ahead.

This year we want even more young people to take part in the vote, and have their say about what should be debated during the UKYP House of Commons sitting in 2012.

Please take one minute to register your school’s interest in taking part. We will send you an information pack, let your local Member of Youth Parliament (MYP) know you have signed up, and give you advice on how to get a great turnout for the vote in October.

As an extra special incentive to get involved, all schools that register will be entered into a prize draw to WIN TWO TICKETS to the viewing gallery of the UKYP House of Commons sitting in November 2012 to see the debate in action!

The deadline for schools to sign up is 20 July 2012.

  1. UKYP must make a point of finding the right person at each school to help promote the youth parliament. Mail not addressed to a certain individual is often ignored or passed to the wrong person. UKYP – try to find out who the PSHE and School Council co-ordinators are in each school and speak directly to them!
