My priorities

I am the Member of Youth Parliament for the London Borough of Hounslow. Having stood against 6 other candidates, I was elected to this post by a clear mile. I am 17 years old and currently attend Gumley House Convent School's Sixth Form. I have just recently joined my local Youth Council in February, just before the elections started and I managed to get elected which was a huge success! A girl in the year above at Gumley was a Member of Youth Parliament last year and that was really the first time I had been introduced to the organisation. I was elected on the issue of increasing more political awareness amongst young women. This is the issue that I would like to bring to the borough's attention during my term. This is my personal campaign and challenge that I will take on this year, I aspire to visit all of the secondary schools in my borough and ensure that I hold regular surgeries in order to stay connected with the young people of Hounslow. It is absolutely essential tha t change be brought about at least on a local level.
