My priorities

My name is John Chilvers and I have been the MYP for Kent since February 2012, ever since then it has been an honour to serve the young people of Kent. I am passionate about ensuring that everyone, no matter how rich has access to free and high quality education, I feel that a good education system is the best way to increase social mobility. People should be able to become successful with hard work, no matter on their background. Because young people are unable to vote, decision makers often don’t take our views into account and this is something I want to change. My last top priority is to get the message out there that when we become 18, we must vote in elections. The amount of young people voting is incredibly low and this must be changed. Making your mark at the ballot box is the best way to get your message out there on how you think the country should be run.
