House of Commons debate report

In a debate held at the House of Commons in November 2012, MYPs broadly agreed that marriage should be open to all regardless of sexual orientation.

Speaking in favour of the motion was Michaella Philpot MYP, 18, from Essex, who said: “We have a moral and social obligation to challenge human rights abuse against gay people.” She also talked about the unacceptable prevalence of homophobic bullying.
