A new video has been produced to help you in the recruitment process of new UKYP candidates.

The film, called ‘Your Voice Counts’ is a drama about a young girl who discovers the benefits of being a member of Youth Parliament. The story has been written to appeal to a youth audience between 11 and 18 years.

The story is set in realistic locations including a school, council chambers and a youth club. The cast is predominately played by young actors and features some current UKYP members in leading roles.

The storyline is positive, upbeat and highly entertaining, with comedy elements that will be enjoyed by the audience as well as providing useful facts and information about UKYP.

The key messages that the film addresses:
- What is UKYP, it’s aims and objectives
- What it means to be a Member of the Youth Parliament
- The benefits of being a Member of Youth Parliament
- How to get involved – either by voting or standing as a candidate

The film is six minutes in duration, which is perfect for playback during school assemblies and easy to include into lesson plans.

The film has high production values, being made by a professional production company with a track record in producing youth and public sector communications.

The film ends with a direct call to action, encouraging young people to find out more and get involved. Local contact information is then displayed which we can edit and customise it for you and your region. It can be used for years afterwards, saving you time and money in your UKYP recruitment activity.

Buckinghamshire County Council came up with the idea to use the video and plan to show it in all schools throughout the county between October and December.
