Schools, colleges and youth organisations

1.        Register by 18th July for paper ballots.  Please sign up below, and we’ll let you know when we launch on 23rd August.
Click here to check if your school/college/youth group have already been registered. Updates are made regularly, but unfortunately it needs to be done manually rather than automatically.

2.        Live launch on 23rd August. Printed ballots will be delivered from 2nd September in England and Wales, and 23rd August in Scotland and Northern Ireland (Royal Mail/courier tracking codes will be emailed to you once the ballots have been dispatched). You’ll receive an email with links to resources (inc a BSL video, downloadable Widget ballot) as part of the launch on 23rd Aug.

3.        Run the vote by noon 9th October. For the schools’ resource we’ve teamed up with votesforschools.com who have produced a classroom resource

4.         Then return the results online by Noon on 9th October

    The British Youth Council collects this data to ensure you can be informed of Make Your Mark, and the following campaign activities. The information will be stored on secure UK based servers for the duration of the project, and the Make Your Mark 2020’s registration period, ending in August 2020. Your information will be shared with British Youth Council employees/contractors and our delivery partners YouthFocusNW (North West England, Charity no. 1125563), Youth Work Unit (Yorkshire and Humber. Charity number 1096951) and Children in Wales (Registered Charity 1020313), where the registered address falls within those domains. In addition your information will be shared with your Local Authority (in England and Wales only), who run Make Your Mark locally, as well as supporting mechanisms to involve young people in local decision making. Your information will also be shared with Esco (Company no. 3108910), our Mailing House for distribution of Make Your Mark ballots, WE Charity (Registered Charity in England and Wales (1138645) and Scotland (SC045815), an organisation that provides additional opportunities such as scholarship trips, educational resources, and free support for schools. In the event that your information needs be shared with a 3rd party not listed we will seek prior permission.
