Which political issues are you
most passionate about?
I feel very strongly about animal
rights and HUNTING. I think fox hunting is cruel and it sickens
me when people refer to it as a 'sport'. I also care a lot about
environmental issues like global warming and pollution.
What do you feel is the biggest
issue for young people in your constituency?
I recently asked my friends and pupils
at my school about things they would like to see changed or improved.
One issue was about supply teachers at our school; "we don't
learn as much when we have supplies", "They can't control
the class". But the biggest issue is having places to go! The
young people in my area (including myself) want more places to go
and have fun.
What do you hope to achieve during
your term of office?
During my term of office, I hope to
make a change in my community. My main aim is to improve facilities
and have more places to go. I also want to meet new people, make
new friends and hear their views.
What is your future career ambition?
My ultimate dream is to become a TV
presenter or actress. I'd love to present childrens television programmes
like blue peter and cbbc . Obviously I have a big interest in politics
and also the news and i'd really like to be a news reader. It would
be great to become a world leader and declare world peace...but
I have my doubts about that one.
Which public figure do you most
admire and why?
I admire people who stand up for what
they believe in; such as Nelson Mandela and Martin Luther King.
They are/were incredibly strong minded people and I respect that.
If there was one message you could
send to the government, what would it be?
huuuuumummmm...Oh I know. This message
isn't only for the goverment.
Us teenagers, we are always getting bad things said about us. It
irritates me when a minority of teens do something wrong and it
makes us all look bad. I want people to realize that we are not
all like that. I am a friendly person, the type who will smile at
a stranger. But lately when I'm out with my friends, people-mainly
the elderly look terrified; as if they think that we are going to
mug them. I don't think it's fair that we are all looked upon like
this and I think that the teenagers who are doing good and who are
working well should be made known.
