Which political issues are you
most passionate about?
The Political issue I am most passionate
about is youth homelessness in the UK. This is for a couple of reasons,
mainly because it is something every young person should be able
to relate to and show empathy for, and it is constantly on the rise
as I recently found out - there are more than 100,000 young people
sleeping on the streets every year because they have no other choice.
Wouldn't that make you passionate about something?
What do you feel is the biggest
issue for young people in your constituency?
What I believe to be the biggest issue
in my constituency is isolation, as most of the young people in
my area live in small communities and villages a fair distance from
any decent facilities. And with increasing public transport fares
it's getting increasingly difficult for them to foot the costs to
travel every week.
What do you hope to achieve during
your term of office?
During my term I hope to work towards
lowering the cost on public transport to solve the above issue,
and to set up a network of youth forums, that will coincide with
those already existing and to link each of the schools and youth
centres / projects in the area.
What is your future career ambition?
My Future career plans are to do a
couple of years missionary work in a country such as Africa or Asia
helping those in a position that seems to them hopeless, and then
to settle into a job I can prepare for in 6th form over the next
2 years.
Which public figure do you most
admire and why?
I wouldn't really say I admire a public
figure. I never get why it's always a public figure you have to
admire, though just recently I started to realise, how great a person
I used to know was who sadly passed away after suffering for 16
years with AIDS. The main reason for this is, he had a true ambition
to relate with people his age and when well enough he came into
school and was able to light up a room when he entered it. As mentioned
he was suffering with AIDS but he gave it a hell of a fight and
I think the local papers reported him as one of the only children
from Africa that had survived so long from birth with the condition.
So that just goes to show it isn't always public figures you have
to admire
If there was one message you could
send to the government, what would it be?
Just one? Hmm I'd probably ask where
the red button is but that's because I'm curious like that.
