Which political issues are you
most passionate about?
I am passionate about free travel
for students. It can currently cost large amounts of money for anyone
over 16 to travel to and from school. This is mainly due to fact
that they are considered adults, but I feel this is unfair as they
may still be in full time education and so are unable to have a
job and so do not have the money to pay for expensive public transport.
I am also passionate about the stereotyping of young people in the
media.
What do you feel is the biggest
issue for young people in your constituency?
I feel safety is quite a big issue
in my constituency, although the level of violence and crime does
vary across Hertfordshire. But I feel it is important for all young
people to know how to stay safe and keep out of trouble.
What do you hope to achieve during
your term of office?
I hope to increase the awareness of
the cost of travel for students, the portrayal of young people in
the media and safety for young people. I hope to move these issues
up the political agenda so they can be seriously considered and
hopefully rectified.
What is your future career ambition?
I hope to be a doctor but will always
remain interested in politics.
Which public figure do you most
admire and why?
I really admire Winston Churchill
as he stuck to his guns, even when public opinion was against him.
He alone saw through Hitler's promises although he was ridiculed
at the time. I think that too many politicians today worry about
pleasing the general public instead of focusing on altering things
for the better, even if at first public opinion is against them.
If there was one message you could
send to the government, what would it be?
Young people below the voting age
are still important.
