Constituency: Norfolk
--------------------------------------------------------
Which political issues are you
most passionate about?
The lack of funding going to youth
services and looking after the environment and encouraging others
to do so, after all we do live on the coast and can't really afford
not to!
What do you feel is the biggest
issue for young people in your constituency?
The lack of affordable meeting places
and encouragement for getting young people involved in positive
activities. Again, I think this comes down to the lack of funding.
What do you hope to achieve during
your term of office?
I hope to achieve making Gt Yarmouth
a more positive environment for young people. Also to try and encourage
schools to teach more about "life issues" such as drug
awareness, sexual health etc. Giving more young people the chance
to access youth workers is important too.
What is your future career ambition?
I'm keeping my options open for the
time being, but have thought deeply about youth work. I'm very interested
in how young people are portrayed and what people can achieve without
even realising it! It gives people a great sense of achievement
and builds much needed confidence.
Which public figure do you most
admire and why?
The public figure that I admire the
most is Gene Simmons! I know that may sound weird but at the end
of the day he is portraying the positive side of youth culture and
challenges issues/attitudes that need to be addressed. He also treats
young people equally while encouraging them to take part in something
constructive. He focuses their minds on their futures and how their
behaviour affects others.
If there was one message you could
send to the government, what would it be?
Invest and look after the youth. They
are the future parents, workforce and voters.
Additional comments:
Thank you to all of those who voted
for me. I am very grateful and looking forward to being able to
learn about new things. I'll try my best.
