Constituency:

--------------------------------------------------------
Which political issues are you
most passionate about?
The main political issues I am most
passionate about start with transport. The ways in which bus drivers'
attitudes towards young people are disgraceful as most young people
are unfairly stereotyped against. Furthermore the portrayal of young
people in the media; not all young people are the same, so it is
unfair that we are all judged on the basis of the minority. I am
also passionate about the environment, so encouraging recycling
and cutting down on CO2 emissions are an area of interest.
What do you feel is the biggest
issue for young people in your constituency?
I represent Hounslow, and I believe
the biggest issue for young people in my constituency is the attitudes
of bus drivers towards young people. This was derived from a "What
You Want" conference that was held by the MYPs last year. Youth
facilities were also seen as an area that has to be developed from
young people as well as safety and the cleanliness of the environment.
What do you hope to achieve during
your term of office?
Locally, my manifesto included:
1) Free transport for students in education and working on the attitudes
of bus drivers towards young people
2) Go green with Hounslow, redevelop and enrich its sports facilities
for the future 2012 Olympians; and finally
3) Not all youths are hooligans, to work on the prejudice against
young people and anti-social behaviour allegations.
Regionally, I hope to successfully
lead and help complete the "Knives and Guns" Project that
is now taking place.
What is your future career ambition?
Having realised my gift of voicing
my opinion loud and strong, I have been drawn back from my plans
to originally do dentistry. I now hope to do a degree in politics
and then go on from there, maybe into media and news presenting
or a high role within the political arena.
Which public figure do you most
admire and why?
I do not admire any specific public
figure, but I admire the little people who make a small but incredible
difference. A perfect example is after the July bombings, the police
force, fire fighters, doctors, nurses
the people who show true
dedication are my heroes.
If there was one message you could
send to the government, what would it be?
"Wake up".
