Which political issues are you
most passionate about?
In general it tends to be educational
issues as I believe they are most important for any young person
(at least up to 16) as they have to spend the majority of their
time at school. However, in the recent past, perception of young
people (in and out of the media) and youth crime has also become
a passion of mine.
What do you feel is the biggest
issue for young people in your constituency?
In Harrow, I feel that most of all
the lack of activities for youth needs to be tackled, as young people
are often seen at street corners during evenings and holidays and
this is purely because they have nowhere else to go with their friends.
Surely if the council was to provide something substantial for them
to do, they would be much better occupied and it may even reduce
some of the youth crime which results as a cause of this lack of
activities in my borough.
What do you hope to achieve during
your term of office?
In my term of office, I would like
to improve the public image of young people in Harrow, whist also
forging good relations with those who have the power to affect change,
so that they will be more ready to listen to young people's problems
and be willing to act upon them
What is your future career ambition?
In the future, I would like to work
either in the civil service, in an advisory post, or work in finance
in an investment bank.
Which public figure do you most
admire and why?
Most of all I admire Anita Roddick
because she has managed to create a vast business empire whilst
at the same time teaching the whole world a thing or two about moral
ethics.
If there was one message you could
send to the government, what would it be?
Before you change anything important,
make sure you thoroughly consult those to whom it matters, and Top
Up Fees are (in my opinion) a bad bad bad idea
