Which political issues are you
most passionate about?
At the moment all the problems with
the NHS. Our hospitals are seriously understaffed and are in real
need of being sorted out and we need to sort this out and quickly
and efficiently. Here's a quote from Steven Webb which I consider
a very accurate statement "Staff morale and public confidence
in the NHS will continue to crumble until ministers take action
to reverse this trend. Money is being wasted on a costly and damaging
permanent revolution in the health service."
What do you feel is the biggest
issue for young people in your constituency?
As a student I regularly have to use
the public services in my area and have struggled often to afford
the fares as I regularly have to use the service. We have held numerous
discussions on the topic of public transport. We have identified
areas that need to be improved and these identified areas, for the
people in my constituency, would be the biggest help and change
that needs to be made in my view.
What do you hope to achieve during
your term of office?
I hope that I will make a difference
and leave an imprint to everyone who follows and tries to make a
difference in our community and maybe even at a National level.
Additionally I hope to raise awareness of the UKYP and other organisations
out there that let us get our voices heard.
What is your future career ambition?
At the moment I am currently studying
computer programming which I hope to continue at a university level
and then to become a computer programmer. However I would like to
continue my political ambition at a local level and help my community
with what I can.
Which public figure do you most
admire and why?
Alyssa Milano. She's just achieved
so much and still has a great career. One of the many things she's
done is help out after hurricane Katrina. One of her latest achievements
is when she visited India at the 6th month anniversary of the Tsunami
tragedy as an UNICEF Ambassador. Her visit came at a time when India
marks the 6th month anniversary of the tsunami disaster that affected
the lives of millions of children and families. She visited the
worst-affected tsunami zones in Cuddalore district of South India
to witness the relief and rehabilitation efforts.
If there was one message you could
send to the government, what would it be?
Have you been to a hospital when they
are not expecting you and have caught a real glimpse of the work
that goes on? Because if you have you wouldn't be saying that it's
the best year for the NHS. You need to open your ears to the cries
of the public you're supposed to be representing and listen to them.
