Ellsmore
Status:
Deputy MYP
Constituency:
Wigan

Which political issues are you
most passionate about?
The political issues that I am most
passionate about are health, education and discrimination
What do you feel is the biggest
issue for young people in your constituency?
I feel that the biggest issue for
young people in Wigan is the lack of facilities and the price it
cost to enjoy these facilities. I feel that if there were more facilities
in Wigan with a cheaper price range more people would be able to
enjoy the facilities. This would help young people feel safer because
they would have somewhere to go they wouldn't have to hang around
on the streets.
What do you hope to achieve during
your term of office?
I would like to get more people aware
of what UKYP is all about, and hear people's views and opinions
on different issues. Also I want to get to know other MYPs &
DMYPs. Last but not least I want to try and get involved with as
many things as possible through UKYP.
What is your future career ambition?
At the moment I am not too sure. I
have a few interests in what career I would like to have. Therefore
I feel it is not the right time for me to decide!
Which public figure do you most
admire and why?
I have to say that I think Nelson
Mandela is a fantastic public figure because of his determination.
He never compromised to gain freedom when he was in jail and he
still set out to achieve his goal after he was released.
If there was one message you could
send to the government, what would it be?
I think it would be extremely beneficial
for the government to take some time to listen to what young people
have to say. The reason I think this is because young people have
good ideas and it is a disgrace if these ideas are never heard.
YOUNG PEOPLE ARE THE NEXT GENERATION!
