Constituency:
St Helens
--------------------------------------------------------
Which political issues are you
most passionate about?
I am passionate about all of the issues
that affect young people. In particular issues that affect the future
of young individuals, such as education and issues around the image
of young people and how they are perceived through the media.
What do you feel is the biggest
issue for young people in your constituency?
There are many issues in St Helens
that need looking at; the main ones are things like places to go.
In St Helens youth crime is on the rise because of lack of things
to do and places to go. Transport is also a big thing, I believe
that people whilst in full time education or under the age of 16
should be entitled to free public transport or at least reduced
fares.
What do you hope to achieve during
your term of office?
I hope to give something for people
to do in St Helens, to get people off the streets and into doing
something productive that can help them later on in life. I hope
to influence the government on its education policies and to change
the way in which schools are graded, as it is well known that not
everyone is an academic person i.e. some people can shove their
head into a book and read it all with fascination, whilst others
can shove their head under a car bonnet and do the same. People
should be awarded for their abilities.
What is your future career ambition?
My future career ambition is to study
law and politics in a joint honours degree at a top university.
Then go on to pursue an active political career along with being
a practising barrister.
Which public figure do you most
admire and why?
I admire people that have done something
inspirational against all odds, people that have made a difference
in the world for the right reasons.
If there was one message you could
send to the government, what would it be?
Sacrifice a little and gain a lot.
