Which political issues are you most passionate about?

School Health - I feel that Citizenship does not cover enough useful topics, also a lot of schools do not take it seriously as a subject which is a big issue. Also I would like school canteens to get rid of junk and unhealthy food, as I believe it will improve student performance. Other issues include lack of out of school/college activities, there needs to be more notice boards and newsletters. Transport for young people is a huge dilemma as many are being ripped off. I would also like the issue of ASBOs to be made clearer and I want the media to stop targeting young people.

What do you feel is the biggest issue for young people in your constituency?

I think it is transport as a normal young person I have never been given any information about buses on routes and how much it would cost. People I know who take the bus, say the attitude of some drivers is not good. There are no seatbelts on some buses and costs are not made clear. A lot of times you are left guessing and have to be lucky. I think if a debate was set up between bus companies and local young people, this would clear the air and help to improve things in the future.

What do you hope to achieve during your term of office?

I hope to increase the awareness of UKYP and what UKYP is trying to bring to young people. I also hope to change/influence issues that are affecting local youths and make sure these are maintained for the future through future MYPs.

What is your future career ambition?

I plan to head into a career of working with the government or a council, maybe to do with the environment or planning. I also have interests in the law maybe as a solicitor; the other career I have in mind is maybe as a teacher. I'm hoping college will influence my options so they are clearer.

Which public figure do you most admire and why?

Writer Dan Brown is the only person I can think of, his books may be fictional but they touch on issues not many would dare to tackle. I find the debate of religion very interesting.

If there was one message you could send to the government, what would it be?

Stop sucking up to the EU, it shows this government doesn't have any backbone. Show Britain is still a powerful, individual country. Most people I know think we should pull from it before countries like Turkey and Albania join.
