Which political issues are you
most passionate about?
The political issue I am most passionate
about is access to expressive arts, because in our school it is
over £70 for 6 music lessons. You have to take your instruments
in as well. Some people cannot afford that so they are not able
to have music lessons. My other issue is bullying. I feel this is
really important after my sister was bullied last year. It doesn't
get sorted as well as the school says it does. I think that if the
bullies bully more than two people they should get suspended or
even excluded.
What do you feel is the biggest
issue for young people in your constituency?
In the place where I live in Tywardreath
there is nowhere for us to go, only Brownies and Guides. It is not
that fun there and when you are 15 you are too old. I am involved
in a lot of things, like my band and my dancing but all the other
young people need somewhere to go. I think near where I live we
need more places to go for young people aged 11-17.
What do you hope to achieve during
your term of office?
I hope to achieve a lot of things
but I really want more schools to be more aware of bullying because
it is so uncomfortable for the person to go to school scared and
afraid. It happens in some schools but not many. Bullying is a very
important issue to me.
What is your future career ambition?
When I am older I would like to be
an expressive arts teacher so I can teach music, art, drama and
dance. At school I love my music and dance. I enjoy P.E. as well
but I am an asthmatic acute and it sometimes aggravates it when
I do too much outdoor activity when it is really cold. I also want
to stay with the youth forum and a county youth forum because that
gives us somewhere to go every month.
Which public figure do you most
admire and why?
My public figure is Anne Blake. She
is a woman in my locality who voluntarily does all the Guides, Brownies
and Rainbows. She is so nice and whenever you need help Anne can
always help because she is a teacher. She is the best person I have
ever met!
If there was one message you could
send to the government, what would it be?
Children should have the same opportunities
as adults have, except smoking and alcohol, so they can get jobs
and go to the cinema alone without an adult to see a 12A.
