Name: Bruce Halling
Status: Deputy MYP
Constituency: Bedfordshire
--------------------------------------------------------
Which political issues are you
most passionate about?
The lack of activities and opportunities that are readily available for young people. The discrimination against people with “special needs”. And litter.
What do you feel is the biggest
issue for young people in your constituency?
The lack of activities and opportunities that are readily available for young people, in terms of things to actually do during school holidays, purely and simply because they are next to non-existent at the moment! And those that are there, are out of the price range for the majority of young people.
What do you hope to achieve during
your term of office?
I hope to be able to be part of something to change this over the course of the next year, so that young people can be involved in something constructive during their time off as opposed to just hanging round doing nothing.
What is your future career ambition?
I’m aiming to be involved in either media or politics. To be honest though I’m not sure yet, I have a real passion for sports, so I could focus in on sports journalism, but I also have a real passion for standing up for what myself and those around me believe in, so we’ll see what happens.
Which public figure do you most
admire and why?
Nelson Mandela, he stood up for what he believed in, despite the fact it cost him nearly 30 years of his freedom in order to gain the freedom of millions of others.
If there was one message you could
send to the government, what would it be?
Listen to young people. We are not just the future, we are the present as well!

Bit of advice to anyone reading this, don’t ever be afraid of speaking your mind. If you have something to say, make sure your voice is heard!
