Which political issues are you most passionate about?

The issue that I am most passionate about in politics is the growing number of crimes in this country. There is not enough that is done to ensure that citizens of this country do not suffer just from the actions of a minority.

What do you feel is the biggest issue for young people in your constituency?

It is my belief that young people in our society today feel alienated due to the bad publicity that the media has given to them. This is mainly because the media focuses on a minority of young people, when in actual fact the majority have skills and talents which should be identified.

What do you hope to achieve during your term of office?

I hope to achieve a better reputation for young people in Nottinghamshire and hope that other regions will adopt the same approach. This will then help relieve the stresses of the media on young people in our society. Another issue I would like to tackle is the extortionate bus fares that young people have to endure.

What is your future career ambition?

I wish to have a future career in politics whether it is in local government or the national parliament. Being able to listen and represent people gives me a sense of pride, as well as being honoured because people trust me to represent their views.

Which public figure do you most admire and why?

The public figure that I admire the most would be Rt. Hon Kenneth Clarke QC MP because I would aspire to be someone like him because he is good public speaker and has made a great impact on the British political system with his terms in office.

If there was one message you could send to the government, what would it be?

The message I would like to send to the government is to allow young people to have more authority and fund youth organisations. This is to enable young people to get their points heard at the highest level so that they can make decisions that can benefit a larger majority of people.

Additional comments:

I am very passionate about this new position that I have got (MYP). I hope to make significant changes to Nottinghamshire so that young people’s lives can be less stressful and more beneficial. This so they feel apart of a democracy and not alienated from our society.
