Derby City
--------------------------------------------------------
Which political issues are you
most passionate about?
I feel everyone has the right to be
treated equally no matter what. Also I feel passionate about keeping
young people off the streets and putting them in cleaner, safer
environments like youth clubs and centres. This will also to help
deal with drug and alcohol abuse, because they won't be so bored.
What do you feel is the biggest
issue for young people in your constituency?
One of the biggest issues is the government
constantly labelling us as "thugs" or "mindless yobs".
Also, drug abuse and the constant rise of street crime are big issues.
What do you hope to achieve during
your term of office?
I hope, with help, to make Derby a
safer, closer community for young people. I want to give young people
a better name and prove to the government that we are not a waste
of time.
What is your future career ambition?
I am really interested in the arts,
especially music and drama. I am also really interested in designing
clothes or costumes (and accessories). I hope to go to an art school
in London called St Martins. Music and art plays a big part in my
life.
Which public figure do you most
admire and why?
I don't really have a favourite public
figure that I really admire but I do have a lot of respect for Nelson
Mandela for what he's been through to end up on top, and making
a stand for what he believed in.
If there was one message you could
send to the government, what would it be?
Stop attacking young people verbally.
They need to start pushing us forward and stop pulling us down.
They need to stop and recognise they are putting us down. If they
don't believe in us who will? We need constant encouragement, not
constant bad mouthing. The more they call us names the more we are
going to believe what they call us and live up to the name. Speech
is powerful.
