Status: MYP
Constituency: Croydon

Which political issues are you
most passionate about?
I believe the main political issue is knife and gun crime. As a young person and MYP, I am sick to death to wake and hear on the news that another young person is gone. I mean GONE. Where are those days where we live peace?
What do you feel is the biggest
issue for young people in your constituency?
My biggest concern is how the media portray bad image about young people and how society stereotypes us daily. I believe that vandalism, bullying at school/college and how young people see education as weak and unimportant are major concern.
What do you hope to achieve during
your term of office?
So much to achieve! I hope to raise youth awareness to their local facilities; motivate other young people to stand for their rights and be counted and see education as muscular key to opportunity and success; to see change on gang culture; to encourage and persuade young people to see that there is more to life than crime and see the light from different views.
What is your future career ambition?
When the time comes I will know what is right for me. I just want to focus on my exams now. We are born for purpose not ambition. As I AM leads I follow; that is my ambition. I got a heart to see people transform from darkness into light.
Which public figure do you most
admire and why?
I don’t know, but I say Tony Blair because he is a good and vibrant public speaker.
If there was one message you could
send to the government, what would it be?
Listen! Listen! LISTEN to young people. Don’t ever undermine them; they have got you in their hands.
Additional comments:
I like to listen, voice opinion and represent young people’s voices on local and national issues. I strongly believe that I and other MYPs TOGETHER will surely make a difference.
