Which public figure do you most admire and why?

Nelson Mandela, he stood for what he believed in. Showed strength, courage and made a big difference.

If there was one message you could send to the government, what would it be?

Less talking, more action! Politicians are very skilled at talking around subjects rather than actively tackling the problem at hand.

In addition I believe that some politicians tend to see things at surface view which is easy to do when the problem is not directly affecting or involved with you. For example I have heard of countless cases where children have been excluded or expelled sometimes for wrong reasons and when improvement has occurred in centres they have been forced back into the same environment where they were not progressing (school). I do believe it is important to upkeep the education of others in a class which is being disturbed, therefore exclusion is often necessary. However, this should be handled in a far more serious manner than the way it is currently. Too many times have children been wrongly accused of harassing a teacher, etc, when often they were in fact provoked or manhandled themselves. Teachers and children should be protected alike. In a court of law a potential criminal has the opportunity to face a jury and be found guilty or not guilty. Why is this not applied to accused pupils in the same way it would be if a teacher was accused?

The right to education is a fundamental right of freedom we are blessed with in this country and should not be allowed to be taken away by an ambiguous allegation. Witnesses and evidence should be brought because interruption of education will have repercussions on the child.
Furthermore the environments of expelled or excluded pupils need to be analysed to find a link with their misbehaving which will lead to the childs’ improvement.  Every child matters and one should not be neglected or forgotten because of bad behaviour as there is usually a significant reason which explains this.
