-------------------------------------------------------- Which political issues are you most passionate about? I am very passionate about issues that involve youth. The fact we are very rarely given the opportunity to express ourselves at a higher level, and to influence the happenings of our country, or AWARE of it is saddening. The Government wonder why the provisions they provide don’t suit us – perhaps because we barely ever get the chance to say what WE want! What do you feel is the biggest issue for young people in your constituency? In Croydon, I believe there is more than one major issue. Education. The youth don’t seem to realise how important an education is, and I think there needs to be some hard hitting workshops to show what can happen without it. Teenage Pregnancy. A far from satisfactory amount is happening, in my eyes, to prevent it. What little there is, is very poorly advertised. Youth Crime. This would tie into Youth Provision. There just isn’t enough that we WANT to do, and so we unfortunately turn to crime. What do you hope to achieve during your term of office? Being the first MYP for Croydon in 5 years, I simply hope to be able to get this great opportunity for Croydon back up and running, and create a base for future MYPs to follow on through successfully. Obviously I would like to make some memorable and positive impacts during my term of office. What is your future career ambition? Strangely enough, I have no interest in politics as a career. I hope to successfully graduate from Uni, and get a job as an Equine Vet, and ultimately, own my own Equine Veterinary Clinic, and Equine Education Department. Which public figure do you most admire and why? I couldn’t yet name anyone specifically, but I generally admire anyone who goes out of his or her way for the well being of the people. If there was one message you could send to the government, what would it be? Listen to us… If you want to get anywhere really successful with us, you NEED to listen.
