Name: Risha Khagram
Status: Deputy MYP
Constituency: Harrow
--------------------------------------------------------
Which political issues are you
most passionate about?
Education and safety.
What do you feel is the biggest
issue for young people in your constituency?
Places to go, because in Harrow (apart from the shopping centre), there is not much to do! Crime is another big issue - not many young people feel safe walking in the streets because it’s unsafe.
What do you hope to achieve during
your term of office?
I hope to give all youth in Harrow a voice and make sure that their views are heard.
What is your future career ambition?
I’m not sure yet, probably something business/IT orientated, although I’d love to do something with drama.
Which public figure do you most
admire and why?
Princess Diana because she wasn’t afraid to do what SHE wanted to do. She raised money for all the African people with aids and sold many of her own clothes to make money for that cause.
If there was one message you could
send to the government, what would it be?
It’s better if you listen to us (the youth) when you’re going to make big decisions, because we’re the future of this country and the decisions you make now will affect us more than you in the future!
Additional comments:
The UKYP is a really good idea and I’m really happy to be a part of it.
