Which political issues are you
most passionate about?
I am very passionate about ensuring that young people are able to benefit from the opportunities available to them, such as a good education with a stable pathway for their future. I also believe that is important that they are also aware of the society around them and issues which affect them as young people, such as issues like child obesity, teenage pregnancies and STIs, and that they are able to stand up and ensure that their voice is successfully heard regarding any issues that may affect them.
What do you feel is the biggest
issue for young people in your constituency?
To be honest for me it would be the issue of knife and gun crime; within the past few years the issue of knife and gun crimes perpetrated by youth are growing at an alarming rate, and it’s vital that young people do something about it before it gets too late. Also, the major problem which I personally believe many prefer to sweep under the rug is environment and healthy lifestyles; it is absolutely crucial for young people to be aware of their health and the state of the environment around them, and to try as hard as possible to help reduce risks that may affect themselves or their environment, such as global warming and obesity amongst young people.
What do you hope to achieve during
your term of office?
I just hope that I am able to put some of our ideas as young people into action, and show that we are not just all talk! I would be really happy if I could target the key issues in our manifesto and make sure that we can actually achieve something productive to reach our goals.
What is your future career ambition?
I’m not sure yet, but something that involves talking, and making a change for people! I am sure I will probably embark on a career of law or politics; it’s what I have pretty much prepared myself for anyway!
Which public figure do you most
admire and why?
I really admire people like Bono from U2, who are using their fame and fortune to actually do some good in the world, and are trying to eliminate really important issues like poverty.
If there was one message you could
send to the government, what would it be?
To actually remember that they are representing people, and that they should focus on actually tackling issues of the UK, and not just getting one over on the Opposition!
And it goes without saying: Listen to the Youth! Our age certainly does not define our maturity; if we are given the chance I am positive the UK will be very impressed at our potential.
Additional comments:
Thanks for reading my profile! I am a very passionate person regarding youth voice, and will do whatever it takes to ensure that we are being heard properly. During my term of office I will try my best to improve the voice of youth in the UK as a whole, and certify that our voices are heard. Give me a shout if there are any issues you want me to raise!
