Which political issues are you most passionate about?

I’m an ardent socialist and may be described as a feminist whereby I strongly believe that females, alongside males, can take on powerful roles and although I recognise that tradition is fairly important, we live in a democratic society whereby what gender you are should not be an issue! In addition, I am passionate about equal opportunities regardless of race, gender, age, religion etc. in terms of education and leisurely activities available/accessible for youth.

What do you feel is the biggest issue for young people in your constituency?

It’s not THE biggest but I feel that Westminster has a lot to offer in terms of youth provision yet not enough is done to advertise it… which consequently means that they have nothing to do and often turn to crime. ADVERTISING and giving young people something FUN and CONSTRUCTIVE to do is the key.

What do you hope to achieve during your term of office?

I hope to make a positive impact by doing the following:

1. Advertise what is already available in terms of services thus increase youth participation.
2. Consult with a wide variety of youth, especially the hard-to-reach groups or those in the ethnic minority – perhaps run workshops as I feel discrimination is an immense problem although Westminster is undoubtedly a diverse borough!
3. Find a way to somehow improve schools in terms of extra-curricular activities offered. It should be a place young people enjoy going to.
4. Alongside representing and making beneficial changes, I hope to have fun myself!

What is your future career ambition?

Surprisingly, I see anything politics related as more of a hobby as opposed to something I would like to do in my future career. I’m not looking to be a politician or lawyer. I’m passionate about graphic design so I would LOVE to get into marketing in terms of designing adverts or architecture … However, I’m also quite interested in business studies and so I would love working in the City, perhaps as an economist or banker …I still haven’t made up my mind as to what I’m going to do with my life. :P

Which public figure do you most admire and why?

There are many people I admire… Emmeline Pankhurst is definitely a figure who springs to mind! Nelson Mandela. Princess Diana. The list is endless.

If there was one message you could send to the government, what would it be?

Get the youth more actively involved in the running of the country as they’re the people that will be doing it sooner rather than later! And… SOME FUNDING FOR UKYP WOULD BE NICE!

Additional comments:

Thank you to those who voted for me for my 2nd term in office. I’m very grateful for this position and I hope to make a beneficial impact!
