Which political issues are you
most passionate about?
Climate change, national security and education strike me as being important nowadays. I think that equality among everyone is really important when it comes to decision making too, among different races, sexes and among young and older people - they all have something to offer.
What do you feel is the biggest
issue for young people in your constituency?
I think that the main issue in St. Helens is definitely that young people have nowhere to go. This then links in with many more issues and you get people loitering and standing in gangs on street corners which often leads to intimidation and crime. One thing leads to another - if they had somewhere to go in the first place then there’s a possibility that these things wouldn't happen and therefore we would get less bad publicity!
What do you hope to achieve during
your term of office?
I'd like to learn more about the needs of young people from all over Great Britain, meet new people and hopefully change things for the better!
What is your future career ambition?
In the future I’d like to go to college and university, get some degrees and then maybe become a lawyer in Spain, or maybe a politician.
Which public figure do you most
admire and why?
I admire Condoleezza Rice. She’s one of the most influential women in the world, and she’s a great female role model. She came from a less privileged background and has worked her way up to be a very successful national security advisor.
If there was one message you could
send to the government, what would it be?
I would tell them that they need to start believing in all young people - we are the future. They should recognise those young people who go that extra bit further and stop branding all young people as 'yobs in hoodies', it’s not on!
