Which political issues are you most passionate about?

I'm passionate about quite a few issues. One that we all share as MYPs and deputies is of course getting young people respected and listened to. To make sure young people have a say in all political issues today. In my school that is happening with our school council. Each year is represented by a girl and boy and I am also on the school council as a UKYP representative. The school council now actually are included in the interviewing and selection of new school teachers. This is a brilliant idea funded by those who govern and aid the school council and it is an idea like this, if spread to more schools, which can change the way young people are seen and also help relationships in schools between teachers and pupils. I also think sex education is an important issue, seriously, the stupid "mr bunny and mrs bunny" or the stammering teachers that young people have to suffer. Steph Shaw the deputy MYP for mid Cheshire is on the case! Go on her profile and she'll explain!

What do you feel is the biggest issue for young people in your constituency?

I feel that one of the biggest issues for young people in my constituency is relationships between young people and the police. I feel if the police had some sort of training with young people in order to understand how to treat young people, many issues would be helped or solved. For example, rather than moving young people on from shops or giving them ASBOs, why not introduce them to a local youth club? However, there is not always a youth club to go to, so there should be more for young people to do, which could tie into the 5 aims of "Every Child Matters". Also the media against young people has always been an issue, but, thankfully, the media has tried to improve itself by publishing the good that young people do and eradicating the stereotype that is put among us.

What do you hope to achieve during your term of office?

I hope to achieve within my term of office many things (if there was enough time!), but I aim to publicise UK Youth Parliament in my constituency more as many people haven't even heard of it! Also, to somehow, meet with Head Teachers or school council co-ordinators to try to get young people a say on who they want to teach them by interviewing applicants and passing their thoughts onto school governors. Also, to meet with the police in the hope of coming to some arrangement on new police officers being trained by young people on how to deal with young people, or produce a DVD for police training.

What is your future career ambition?

To be honest, I really don't know what I want to be in the future.....errr......astronaut? Don't know!

Which public figure do you most admire and why?

I admire anyone who does charity work. To give your time up for someone you may not know, to raise money or awareness to help them, I think is an admirable thing to do.

If there was one message you could send to the government, what would it be?

Be careful on the decisions you make now, involve young people, choose wisely, because it is our future you are deciding and it will not be a good one if we have to correct any wrongs you make.

Additional comments:

My thoughts on what young people should have:
- free transport if in full time education
- youth clubs should be paid for by school councils so more young people do not have to pay and will have somewhere to go
- free chocolate!!!
