Which political issues are you
most passionate about?
Votes at 16 is something I feel really
strongly about; it's not fair that we're only treated like adults
when profit is to be made. We can pay tax at 16, yet we don't have
the right to choose who should be spending that money.
What do you feel is the biggest
issue for young people in your constituency?
Lack of entertainment is a serious
issue. There's not a lot to do around West Berkshire for young people.
This often results in people loitering and leads to anti-social
behaviour.
What do you hope to achieve during
your term of office?
To represent everyone as best I can,
and be able to say that I made a difference to young people, whether
it's by working towards compulsory sex-and-relationships education
or by helping get a fairer deal with transport prices.
What is your future career ambition?
I want a job that makes a positive
difference to peoples lives, not sitting at a computer to make a
rich man richer. I'm planning to do an English degree and then teach
English at secondary schools, and then when I've had more life experience,
go into politics.
Which public figure do you most
admire and why?
Sir Bobby Robson. It's amazing how
he still has such energy and passion in everything he does, and
I'd like to be like that no matter how old I am.
If there was one message you could
send to the government, what would it be?
The working class faced a massive
struggle to get the vote in the late 19th Century, as did women
in the 1920s, and I'm sure that the Government would agree that
they deserved the vote as they were not inferior in anyway. The
votes for 16 campaign is no different, and would result in a fairer
democracy.
