Which political issues are you most passionate about?

I am passionate about many, if not all political issues regarding young people, for example - respect for young people, less stereotyping and getting young people involved in decision making. But there are two issues which I am most passionate about. These are, cheaper public transport and more of it, and more activities without charge for young people.

What do you feel is the biggest issue for young people in your constituency?

Cheaper, more regular public transport and more activities for young people. Not activities that you have to pay for, because we do have that, and I don't mean more youth groups either, I mean fun activities, from football to ice-skating, or dance groups.

What do you hope to achieve during your term of office?

I hope I will be able to talk with people, even influence the people in power in South Gloucester. I hope to try and get public transport cheaper, as it is an ongoing issue for young people. I also hope to make more young people aware of UKYP and let them know that it is possible for them to have their say by going to clubs like 'Youth Forum'.

What is your future career ambition?

I am very interested and focussed on becoming a lawyer, or a barrister. If I can't do that for any reason, I hope to be a school teacher.

Which public figure do you most admire and why?

I admire, Rosa Parks, because although she has unfortunately died recently, she stood up for what she believed in, and I hope to become like her, and stand up for what I believe. Rosa Parks was very influential. She changed a lot for people for the better, and I wish I could have the guts she did!

If there was one message you could send to the government, what would it be?

Try not to portray young people as yobs, and don’t judge them by the way they look. Take time to get to know young people before judging them. They should also try harder to get young people involved in how our country is run, because we are the future, and we will be running the country in the future.
