Name: Jenny
Mullinder
Status:
MYP
Constituency: Bristol
--------------------------------------------------------
Which political issues are you
most passionate about?
Transport for young people, bullying,
citizenship lessons (or the lack of!), healthy lifestyle (healthy
eating & exercise), and youth image.
What do you feel is the biggest
issue for young people in your constituency?
Bullying is probably the most prominent
issue in Bristol.
What do you hope to achieve during
your term of office?
I hope to raise the awareness of bullying
in Bristol and also tackle the issues of P.S.H.E. and citizenship
lessons. I would also like to highlight the issues surrounding healthy
lifestyle.
What is your future career ambition?
Contrary to the belief of a lot of
my teachers and students in my school I don't want to be the next
female Prime Minister! I would like to be an actress, director or
producer or possibly a choreographer. I'm also interested in writing
songs stories and poems.
Which public figure do you most
admire and why?
I must admire Martin Luther King Jr.
Although he is now dead, he made a real impact on the world and
stood up for what he believed in. He was honest and just and he
was true to himself. He is an inspiration to many people and his
legacy will live on for many years to come.
If there was one message you could
send to the government, what would it be?
I would ask Tony Blair what he is
going to do to raise the profile of UK Youth Parliament. I think
that UKYP should be recognised throughout the UK and "have
you heard of UKYP?" should be asked and answered like "have
you heard of Tony Blair?"
