Name: Brian Parker
Status: MYP
Constituency: Somerset
--------------------------------------------------------
Which political issues are you
most passionate about?
Personally, I think the most important present issue is social stereotyping of and amongst young people. A good example is the word 'chav', and actions taken on the basis of these stereotypes, for example dispersal orders.
What do you feel is the biggest
issue for young people in your constituency?
It is hard to tell, since everyone has different issues, but as a whole I think it is transport, whether it is the price of it or the amount of it.
What do you hope to achieve during
your term of office?
I would like to do improve transport in South Somerset and, while I know that I don't have the power to get rid of dispersal orders, I would like to make people aware of stereotypes and their affects.
What is your future career ambition?
I would like to do something involving writing when I'm older, as a journalist or a writer, though I would consider a job in acting if I can't get either of those jobs.
Which public figure do you most
admire and why?
There isn't really any one figure I admire, though I do look up to people who actually make a difference, for example Nelson Mandela and Mahatma Ghandi.
If there was one message you could
send to the government, what would it be?
Before you make decisions that will have no affect on you, but could ruin our lives in years to come, would you mind asking us first?
