Name: Saboor Arif
Status: Deputy MYP
Constituency: Coventry
--------------------------------------------------------
Which political issues are you
most passionate about?
There isn’t a political issue I am not interested in; I could start a debate about anything with anyone. However I am really concerned about top up fees and universities fees. Also people should be able to vote at 16.
What do you feel is the biggest
issue for young people in your constituency?
I think the biggest problem is the negative stereotyping of young people by police, media and adults. I also think that young people need better transport or maybe concession cards on buses. Furthermore there is nothing for young people to do or go in my constituency.
What do you hope to achieve during
your term of office?
I hope I can get concession card for buses to be given to young people in Coventry. I also hope to combat the negative stereotyping of young people. Moreover I hope I can promote the United Kingdom Youth Parliament.
What is your future career ambition?
Not really sure. Might go into politics.
Which public figure do you most
admire and why?
I don’t admire one single person; however I do admire the people involved with UKYP. I also admire anyone who has done anything to help another person. I have a lot of respect and admiration for the Coventry Youth Council for the all the work they have done with young people.
If there was one message you could
send to the government, what would it be?
The message I would send is to look after young people they are the future. Also abolish university fees.
