Which political issues are you most passionate about?

For me every political issue can get me worked up if I have the necessary knowledge about it. However issues regarding international affairs interest me the most. I like to compare the British political system to others; originating from a country where democracy is least practiced I have strong concerns about human rights and personal freedoms across all regions of the world.

What do you feel is the biggest issue for young people in your constituency?

Many young people I know of in my constituency want to take control of their financial status and either prepare for university life or go through university life without so much financial problems. However many have failed this because they feel that not enough support is given by the government or that getting a job is becoming more and more of a problem especially if you are in full time education. Another aspect that may contribute to this is tuition fees.

What do you hope to achieve during your term of office?

I want to be the voice of the young people in my constituency and I want to achieve whatever they hope for because at the end of the day my role is to represent their views. Alongside my role I hope to meet new people and learn new skills that would help in future employment and a career I desire in politics.

What is your future career ambition?

I hope to do a BSc degree in politics at a London university and then enter the world of politics. This is a vague idea that I have because I also want to consider studying politics at an even higher level than just bachelors. I have no absolute decisions career wise because politics can take me to a number of careers. However due to my language skills in Persian I would want to do something regarding international affairs.

Which public figure do you most admire and why?

Mohammad Al Baradei, the chairman of the International Atomic Energy Agency because he won the noble peace prize that he clearly deserved because his first steps are always dialogue and if it doesn't work it's dialogue again, so I would definitely describe him as a peace maker.

If there was one message you could send to the government, what would it be?

Tuition Fees! Even though I am aware of the implications and the problems it would cause for the government I still think that the government fails to understand how hard it is for many students to complete their higher education when they are having financial problems and they are in debt. I think that just like we have to understand the government, they need to understand us more!
