Name: Rebecca Bostock
Position: MYP
Constituency: South Wiltshire

Which political issues are you
most passionate about?
I am most passionate about bullying, transport, facilities and things to do and ‘green’ issues (the environment and recycling). I think that there is a lot to be worked on in order to solve these problems and to make the country better. These are the things that I think need to be improved first.
What do you feel is the biggest
issue for young people in your constituency?
I think that the biggest issues for young people in South Wiltshire are transport and facilities. I think that there aren’t enough things for young people to do in South Wiltshire, but even if there were, there would be little or no transport to get there! Transport also costs quite a lot if you use buses/trains to get to and from school every day.
What do you hope to achieve during
your term of office?
I hope to create more awareness for UKYP and also to give as many young people as I possibly can a voice that will be heard.
What is your future career ambition?
Surprisingly, not politics (yet anyway!). I would really like to work with animals, for example as a vet or zoologist. Failing that, science, art or music would be an ideal career.
Which public figure do you most admire and why?
Mother Theresa, because of the work that she did in Calcutta helping people and making their lives better. She has been, still is and probably always will be a very inspirational figure around the world.
If there was one message you could
send to the government, what would it be?
Think about what you are doing and the benefits that it will have on everyone, not just you. Please also stick to your word and carry out anything that you promise to do. If you can’t do something, don’t promise it then to start with!
