Which political issues are you most passionate about?

Abolishing the new “yob culture” as adults perceive all young people to be “yobs” giving the majority a bad name, even though it was down to the minority. Also, young peoples' rights and having their views heard. Additionally, having more leisure options as well as better transport and reducing university fares.

What do you feel is the biggest issue for young people in your constituency?

Having nothing to do in our area is the main problem. Adults moan that young people spend all their time on the streets, but is it any wonder when your local town consists of twenty charity shops and many live in rural areas where there is hardly any transport to take you to these places! By having more things to do we can prevent this and start to enjoy and make the most of what our area has to offer, rather than wishing we lived in other areas of the country.

What do you hope to achieve during your term of office?

Bringing my constituency in league with many cities, creating an area young people can be proud of, with more facilities, cheaper and more frequent transport. Also, holding events celebrating the achievements of young people as this would help to abolish the negative perception of young people. Finally, to make UKYP better known so more people are aware of the work we do and can get involved, so i can represent them the best way possible.

What is your future career ambition?

Hopefully a career in broadcast journalism. I love meeting new people from all walks of life and talking is another of my plus sides. I have also been lucky to have received media training and this has given me a flavour of what’s in store. Any offers..?

Which public figure do you most admire and why?

I don’t really look up to anyone in particular, but I admire anyone with a strong opinion who has the determination to follow it through, ignoring all criticisms along the way. Also, to all those people who do so much good for this country but go unnoticed.

If there was one message you could send to the government, what would it be?

Listen to young people and take our views seriously! We are the future. With that in mind any decisions made now will affect us in later life, along with many young people. We have a pretty good idea on what could be improved, what’s needed and what’s good with this country. We are more aware than what you give us credit for. Don’t let our views be another drop in the ocean!
