Constituency: Dudley

Which political issues are you
most passionate about?
I am passionate about many political issues regarding young people, such as respect for the youth, less stereotyping and getting young people involved in the decision-making process. But the issue I am most passionate about is public transport. The government keeps telling us that global warming is an issue and to use more public transport, but how are we meant to if its not reliable and a reasonable price?
What do you feel is the biggest
issue for young people in your constituency?
There are numerous issues, which I feel are important for the young people within the Dudley Borough. However again, in my opinion, I believe that public transport is becoming the biggest issue within the borough and many are beginning to feel that we are not being listened to enough.
What do you hope to achieve during
your term of office?
I want to make sure that I represent my constituency successfully and have their views heard. However big or small, I want to ensure that my actions can improve the lives of young people in Dudley and the UK. Some of my aims include: improving the quality of transport as a whole, encouraging more recycling, trying to raise money to have better youth clubs and showing the Dudley borough that our voice can be heard.
What is your future career ambition?
At the moment, I am considering becoming a lawyer, but I plan to focus on my studies and finish my secondary education first.
Which public figure do you most
admire and why?
I admire youth workers as not many think about it, but they put in an incredible amount of hard work, time, effort and dedication. They have helped young people achieve so much, and are continuing to do. So, they are a real inspiration.
If there was one message you could
send to the government, what would it be?
Please take into account the views and opinions of young people, from what they want to see in the future to the issues they are concerned about. Young people are the future and don’t deserve to be stereotyped. Not only should they listen but they should act on it as well. The government wants the world to be a better and safer place, so do we. We can help out to if you give us a chance.
