Which political issues are you
most passionate about?
I hate the way the media portray all young people as hooligans. Over three quarters, 88% in fact, of media articles relating to young people are negative. Yet less than 10% of young people cause problems. Nonetheless, 10% is too much. Something needs to be done about the so called ‘anti-social behaviour’ of some young people. Something that doesn’t involve ASBOs (Anti-Social Behaviour Orders).
What do you feel is the biggest
issue for young people in your constituency?
I think it’s most likely the lack of things to do and places to go. People spend enough time moaning about ‘anti-social behaviour’ yet nothing is being done to stop it! I understand that we need to get nuisance young people off the streets, but we also need to make sure they have somewhere else to go instead.
What do you hope to achieve during
your term of office?
I hope to be able to get more Youth Facilities in Dudley for young people to socialise and have a good time in. Also, I aim to bring an end to the negative stereotype that has been branded onto young people.
What is your future career ambition?
I hope to be a vet, but if things don’t go my way, I’d like a career in politics.
Which public figure do you most
admire and why?
There isn’t anybody in particular that I’d say I admire – I think that anyone that works to help other people and stands up for what they believe in, deserves admiration.
If there was one message you could
send to the government, what would it be?
Listen to young people now, as they are the future of Britain. Why not make things better for future generations now, rather than relying on someone else to do it in several years time?
