Name: Stuart Green
Position: MYP
Constituency: Norfolk
Which political issues are you
most passionate about?
I feel that we as young people need to be listened to by adults with power. I also feel that we should be able to get around easily. We don’t have access to our own transport, but the public transport costs are too expensive to get around at times.
What do you feel is the biggest
issue for young people in your constituency?
Public transport. Being a rural area lots of people can’t get around without using buses or getting a lift. Not everyone can get a lift so have to use buses. However the buses are expensive, normally the same price as adults, yet we are not legally classified as adults until 18.
What do you hope to achieve during
your term of office?
I would like to try and make the area better for young people by helping with whatever young people want and to try to reduce the price of public transport.
What is your future career ambition?
I would like to be a solicitor, or possibly an MP.
Which public figure do you most
admire and why?
I really don’t know. I think its just people that stand up for an issue they strongly believe in and people who work hard in life to become what they want to become.
If there was one message you could
send to the government, what would it be?
Listen to young people and treat them as voters as we are just as affected most of the time by policy and we will be the future voters.
