Name: Sam Kenward
Position: MYP
Constituency: Suffolk
Which political issues are you
most passionate about?
I am most passionate about big issues such as tackling crime and the economy. I believe if we try to solve these issues, the smaller ones will be much easier and make communities stronger.
What do you feel is the biggest
issue for young people in your constituency?
I feel the biggest issue in my constituency is youth crime, because it is so easy to commit a crime, and to commit another one. In some cases it can become addictive and not enough is being done is to nip this in the bud at an early age.
What do you hope to achieve during
your term of office?
I want to achieve my goals of setting up projects to prevent youth crime, try to ensure that parks are safe before renovating a new one, and try to talk to many kids and councillors etc to try to meet in the middle for a "Big Society".
What is your future career ambition?
I would like to pursue a political career because I have been interested in politics since from about the age of 5 or 6. I believe that we owe a lot to politics and I want to try and serve people the best I can.
Which public figure do you most
admire and why?
I admire Winston Churchill because of his sheer determination and leadership during the Second World War. He is, in my opinion, a true British hero. And he was also strong enough to fight in wars himself, so he is not only a British hero but he is like many thousands of soldiers, the reason for our freedom.
If there was one message you could
send to the government, what would it be?
Actually go out and talk to people about their views before releasing statistics about a subject you do not know yourselves.
Additional comments:
I believe kids ARE the future and hopefully if we can help them through school and work etc, we can have a bright future for Britain.
