Name: Jade Clarke
Position: Deputy MYP
Constituency: Lincolnshire
Which political issues are you
most passionate about?
I am most passionate about votes and 16 and compulsory political education.
What do you feel is the biggest
issue for young people in your constituency?
I feel the biggest issue for young people in my constituency is that they are not fully aware of UKYP, and that people do not know how to go about contacting us and telling us their views.
What do you hope to achieve during
your term of office?
I would like to see political education and votes at 16 come into place. I would also like to improve communication between young people and UKYP.
What is your future career ambition?
My future career ambition is to be an officer in the British Army.
If there was one message you could
send to the government, what would it be?
I cannot see why it is legal for people to make a choice on whether they have children or not at the age of 16, when then cannot even have a choice over their preferred political party. Young people should have compulsory political education so that they understand all parties’ views, aims and goals, as well as how the parliamentary system works.
