Which political issues are you most passionate about?

I believe that politicians should work towards a fairer society; equal rights and opportunities for all. Also, I think that more attention should be given to the extremely pressing and prominent issue of climate change that is facing our world today. Despite being an international issue with the potential to affect a large number of people, we each have singular responsibility to take action.

What do you feel is the biggest issue for young people in your constituency?

I feel that the streets of Sutton could be made safer through collaboration of young people with organisations such as Sutton Youth Council, for whom it is easy to feel intimidated when out at night.

What do you hope to achieve during your term of office?

I hope to engage young people around Sutton in activities such as youth clubs, sports associations and other extra-curricular schemes. This could involve setting up useful and necessary schemes, as well as supporting those that already run. Furthermore, I would like to improve resources for re-cycling in schools around Sutton.

What is your future career ambition?

Currently I am studying sciences and plan to continue this to degree level. However, my ultimate career goal, once I have experienced life in the working world, is politics.

Which public figure do you most admire and why?

Nelson Mandela, a man who has fought to bring great change. Also, I feel compelled to mention Matt Bellamy, for his inspiring composition and life-changing guitar riffs. I aspire to excel so profoundly in my field, and touch even a fraction of the number of lives that they have.

If there was one message you could send to the government, what would it be?

The power of change lies predominantly with the people; truly represent them.

Additional comments:

Thank you to all who voted for me; I hope I can represent your thoughts and needs well, resulting in positive change.
