Name: Jenniie Hunt
Position: MYP
Constituency: Bexley
--------------------------------------------------------
Which political issues are you
most passionate about?
I’m most passionate about gun and knife crime problems and how this is having an effect on how we are portrayed in the media. I feel young people today are all being tarnished with one brush.
I also believe strongly in equality between races and sexes. I hope we can mimic the mix in race and sex in the UK Youth Parliament throughout industry and organisations in the future.
What do you feel is the biggest
issue for young people in your constituency?
We have growing issues with gang culture. Knife crime and drugs are becoming a growing issue in our borough. I believe this is being played out in the media which is having a very negative effect on other young people around Bexley.
There is also lack of communications around the borough to make young people aware of the opportunities aware of the services available to them.
What do you hope to achieve during
your term of office?
I hope we can accurately diagnose the problems young people face around London and properly address those issues. I would also like for us to do well in the Houses of Parliament and that it will become an annual thing, so we can show people what we can achieve.
What is your future career ambition?
I’m fascinated with anthropology and zoology so research would fascinate me. I would also be interested journalism and I would love to write in the national geographic magazine.
Which public figure do you most
admire and why?
It would have to be David Attenborough because I love his work and I would love to do something like that when I’m older.
If there was one message you could
send to the government, what would it be?
You say we are the future so act like it. Help us to help ourselves.
