Name: Asya Akram
Position: MYP
Constituency:Hartlepool
--------------------------------------------------------
Which political issues are you
most passionate about?
So far, young people having a say, Asbos ( anti-silly behaviour orders), media and how young people are seen.
What do you feel is the biggest
issue for young people in your constituency?
Not enough for young people to do.
What do you hope to achieve during
your term of office?
I’d love to make a big impact on young people’s lives and change things in Hartlepool to make it better for young people.
What is your future career ambition?
Well when I was little I was set on being this high flying business lady who makes loads of money and jets of to countries I’ve never heard off. But then I grew out of it. I’d like to have a job focused around young people and making a difference. A job which I’m happy at money doesn’t come into it with me as long as I’m happy. I wouldn’t mind doing volunteering work.
Which public figure do you most
admire and why?
Erm…… I am not too sure. I admire quite a few people. Well it’s got to be Helen Eustace and the choice team from Cleveland police. The work she and her team has done to help women and young people in forced marriages is fantastic.
If there was one message you could
send to the government, what would it be?
Young people of today are the future of this country.
Additional comments:
I’m looking forward to my term in office and working with other MYPs and UKYP organisation. So, lets get this show on the road.
