Which political issues are you most passionate about?

I am most passionate about political issues concerning Europe, but also about constitutional and electoral reform and education, in which I feel that Government currently has too large a role.

What do you feel is the biggest issue for young people in your constituency?

The biggest issue for young people in my constituency is undoubtedly the lack of opportunity for participation within the political process. Most commonly this results in badly thought-out initiatives for young people, which have been created without consultation with young people and consequently are not the most appropriate.

What do you hope to achieve during your term of office?

During my term in office, I hope to make participation by young people in my constituency in issues concerning them both possible and widely known about. In addition, I would hope to increase awareness of the UK Youth Parliament and the work which it does.

What is your future career ambition?

In the future, I hope to contribute in some way to the fields of international relations, law and politics. My dream job would be to work as part of the European Commission, but I also have an interest in both the Diplomatic Service and the United Nations. I hope to make a difference, especially with regards to the inequity endemic to our world.

Which public figure do you most admire and why?

The public figure I most admire is Kofi Annan. This is because of his commitment to the founding principles of the United Nations which he has demonstrated on numerous occasions throughout his career. Annan contributed to the resolution of the post-election crisis in Kenya this year, demonstrating both his diplomatic skills and his pursuit of peace.

If there was one message you could send to the government, what would it be?

Young people are both the electorate and elected of the future: vital to our country's well-being and success. Therefore listen to us, invest in us and dare not forget us as this would be no different from common criminality.
