Name: Soraya Williams
Position: Deputy MYP
Constituency: Portsmouth
--------------------------------------------------------
Which political issues are you
most passionate about?
Standardisation of age. I feel as children we have a right to pay child prices if we are being treated as children. Businesses should have to comply with this.
What do you feel is the biggest
issue for young people in your constituency?
I feel that in our area the biggest issue is the price of transport, after all if you can’t get somewhere how can you take part or help out?
What do you hope to achieve during
your term of office?
I hope to achieve whatever goals are set before us and make progress with the campaigns. During this process I want to gain confidence, knowledge and press experience, using my voice to make a difference. I am also very interested in the ongoing SRE campaign.
What is your future career ambition?
I am very passionate about performing arts however as a very competitive field I am keeping my options open looking into Law. I hope to take a science degree at University after GCSEs and A Levels.
Which public figure do you most
admire and why?
I have often been inspired by the actions of a person in the public eye. However there is no one faultless person. I feel I want to be individual and succeed in my own way following what I believe and learning from my own mistakes.
If there was one message you could
send to the government, what would it be?
I would tell Government to remember who they represent and to think why they chose this career! To listen to everyone and look at who are the future. You can learn from past incidents so history won’t repeat itself. We all mistakes but it’s being big enough to admit you are human.
