Name: Jennifer Renard
Position: Deputy MYP
Constituency: Swindon
Which political issues are you
most passionate about?
I am most passionate about sexual health advice and how in some places people aren’t getting it. Also not only the way sexual health is given but young people being unable to talk about their sexuality because they don’t feel confident about doing it.
What do you feel is the biggest
issue for young people in your constituency?
I think it’s the way people don’t have anyone to talk to or know where to go to. The sexual health lessons need to be delivered properly within schools.
What do you hope to achieve during
your term of office?
I hope to have changed the way in which sexual health is given within some schools. Also work with other people to stop bullying within schools.
What is your future career ambition?
I hope to be a psychologist and study people’s actions and why they do things.
If there was one message you could
send to the government, what would it be?
Don’t get rid of the sexual health bill. We worked hard over these past few years and then they throw it away. Young people are just as important if not more important to today’s society and it’s not fair that you aren’t willing to listen to us.
