Name: Amarvir Singh-Bal
Position: MYP
Constituency: Stoke-on-Trent
Which political issues are you
most passionate about?
- Iraq War
- Education
- Economy
- Judiciary government
- Foreign affairs
- Local government
What do you feel is the biggest
issue for young people in your constituency?
Education and employment.
What do you hope to achieve during
your term of office?
Lowering the cost of transport in order to allow the youth to obtain education at as little expense as possible.
What is your future career ambition?
I am not certain. Hopefully to be enlisted in the Judicial Council of the Bar and become a successful barrister.
Which public figure do you most
admire and why?
I do not believe that there is a modern figure in today’s society that is truly inspirational, but looking into history I can say that Karl Marx is an individual that should be admired. From this bearded man we can learn that one man can make a massive difference to how we think in this modern day. He shows that only when we are united do we fight strong.
If there was one message you could
send to the government, what would it be?
Spend more of the nation’s wealth on education. It is then that the youth have got the biggest advantage in the global theatre. As Malcolm X once said, "Education is our passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to the people who prepare for it today."
